Since I figured out how to run the toolset when Steam can't connect. I've got screenshots. Sans distraction from the internet for several weeks, I moved a good chunk of stuff from "needs to be implemented" to "complete". The list of "complete" stuff is now longer than the list of "needs to be implemented", yay! Doesn't mean tested or anything.
I love the last picture. Great eye for realism there - the composition & texturing is top notch!

ReplyDeleteI did not think you could even make interiors look like that. Is that just using standard materials or any custom content? (I'm looking at the lighter room with the large opening towards the fire at the back in particular.)
In fact I have so many "How did you do that?" questions ...

To answer the questions. Yes, I am extremely proud of how that little area turned out and how much it looks like a place people might actually live. Needless to say there is lots of time spent on texturing and placeables, one of my main goals is making something that feels like an actual city.
ReplyDeleteLance, that's all stock content. There are no custom placeables or tilesets (there will be custom sound). The cave uses the wall texture from a different tileset to get a "carved haphazardly from solid stone" look. Estate tileset wall 3 has detail if you tint it, and looks very fancy with castle floor 2. Like Path of Evil, I will release all my areas separately. Also don't be afraid of color.

Non-swaying trees are coming. I tested the first one for someone. It will make large improvements in indoor tree use.
