Path of Evil: Released

To celebrate, a selection of some of my favorite non spoiler screenshots.

Story: You are the villain of the story. This means it's up to you to decide what needs to be done. No Aldanon rambling on, no Nasher to give specific instructions. One companion will provide a very general framework for you, but it's up to you to figure out where to go and what to do. Did anyone tell Ammon Jerro how to defeat the King of Shadows? No, he figured things out himself. You may be told you are looking for an item in a city, and it's up to you to find it.

Because of this, Path of Evil comes off as being "story-lite", that's because you're making the story as you go, becoming the villain. Path of Evil is about the history of a villain before they "threaten the Realms". Once you leave Neverwinter, Path of Evil has an open world.

You are not required to agree with every evil thing in Faerun. For example you can tell people your personal code means people should be free and refuse slaving quests. Similarly, companions can and do have "non evil" traits such as caring for their family. They're not all homocidal maniacs, and you don't have to be either.

30+ hours of gameplay. 11 possible companions. 160+ quests. Your own stronghold a la Crossroads Keep. Nearly 300 areas.

  1. Congratulations!

It's funny to see Calad "the testing elf" Whitecinder show up for other modders. :p

  2. Great congrats for the release of your great work.

    I have a question:

I see in this campaign you start at level 1. Then, are different stories this campaign and the module you released one year ago? or the module you released is inside this campaign?

    Thanks and good luck

    Juan Valera

  3. This campaign uses the previous module (cleaned and polished up) as it's first module. I didn't put in a "skip the beginning" option so you'll have to replay it. You can always pick a different class archetype for new stuff though.

  4. CW: normally I use Harald the 1/2 orc FB as my tester since he can use the cheater sword quite well. But yes that's Calad in two shots, monk speed helps with testing. I got tired of Adaur.

  5. Congratulations Kamal! Will download it tonight!

  6. Congratulations ....

I look to having another go at thi sone in the future ... I had started it, but lost my save on my old hard drive.

  7. hi there, i'm enjoying this campaing very much, but i can't solve the kvas' kidnnaping quest, i go to the graveyard and i can only access the south masoleum. Is there anything im missing? the others doors are locked. Please send an email at

    many thanks

  8. Hey Kamal,

I'm enjoying PoE more than I enjoyed the original campaign. I've only explored the main portion a bit thus far; but many of the things I've done, including installing a puppet leader, are exactly the kind of evil that I'm interested in doing. So often "freedom" games decide that evil is being a total dickwad. Sure, I can still be a dickwad in PoE, but there always seems to be reasons to do what I'm doing.
